The Power of Words and Personal Empowerment Process
Words are so important! Refining and being selective with your expression is important to gain more self fulfilment. Communication is key to creating a clear mind and action steps that will lead you to where you desire to go. Using positive language while expressing ones self verbally and non-verbally can be very empowering to yourself and those you are communicating with. I see so often many clients who hold a negative vibration within the words they speak, not realizing this. They are beautiful people who are trapped in a mindset of words. When we decide to spew words of deflation and lack, we keep ourselves down. Never mind others.
When you can comfortably talk about yourself in a positive way it acknowledges strengths and can be very empowering. Especially when you combine that with the use of active language such as framing terms and ideas in actions rather than making just statements. For example the use of 'I can, I will, I am' especially talking about the future . A different term for this could be called 'positive affirmation' statements. When you choose your words, it creates a definition of yourself, your identity and autonomy. Be clear about who you are, your values and goals. Leave no room for others to define you, you need to define yourself! Have you heard the saying "a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down"? Sugar coat sensitive messages, that includes your own self talk and attitudes towards yourself.
Do your best to pay attention and avoid negativity and criticism towards yourself and others. This is important and necessary when you are working in a way to be more positive and constructive in life. If you need to critique someone or something, be mindful of giving constructive feedback using positive and supporting words and sentences.
Personal empowerment means taking a lead and control of your life. It is about more than just feeling able to do so. Authentic personal empowerment requires you to set meaningful goals to identify what you want from life, and then take action to achieve those goals and have more impact over the world around you. Words and communicating are a key role in defining you.
At a basic level, the term 'empowerment' simply means 'becoming powerful'. Personal empowerment therefore means taking control of your own life, and not allowing others to control it for you through thought, words or deeds.
People who are not personally empowered tend to lack control over what they, think, say and do. They allow others to make decisions for them. Sometimes out of feeling less power inside can leave you open for others to dictate your life. Some folks lack confidence in themselves and their decisions, and therefore rely on others for guidance. You can learn to shift these patterns of behaviour and change by increasing your own self-awareness with words and communication, and then self-confidence!
Learn to be more mindful of using positive words and active language for yourself and others! It is learning to live a 'consciousness' within life that will inspire you to feel more, be more, and have more! Namaste!
